What upper eyelid surgery treats
Excess or hooded skin on the upper lids, a heavy or tired look, and in some cases skin resting on the lashes and narrowing your field of vision. If a brow lift would give you a better result, your surgeon will tell you.
Suitability is confirmed at your consultation after examination.
This from £2,500 pricing and the free consultation apply to Miss Leila Touil, Miss Jenny Goodenough and Mr Bilal Rafique. Mr Reza Nassab is not included at this pricing — please ask our patient team for his separate fee guide.

Your questions, answered honestly
Is the consultation really free?
Yes. Your initial consultation with Miss Goodenough or Mr Rafique is free of charge and there is no obligation to proceed. You will meet the consultant plastic surgeon who would carry out your surgery, not a salesperson. A £25 deposit is required to secure the booking. This is refundable but retained if you do not attend the booked appointment.
How much does upper eyelid surgery cost at Deansgate Hospital?
Upper blepharoplasty starts from £2,500 under local anaesthetic, or from £5,000 under general anaesthetic. Both are all-inclusive figures covering your surgeon fee, the anaesthetic and theatre, hospital charges, suture removal and all routine follow-up care. Your final fixed quote is confirmed after your consultation. Please note this pricing does not apply to procedures with Mr Reza Nassab.
Which surgeon will I see?
You can request Miss Jenny Goodenough or Mr Bilal Rafique on the booking form. If you have no preference, our patient team will recommend the best fit for what you would like to achieve and the earliest available appointment.
Is it done under local or general anaesthetic?
Most upper blepharoplasty is performed under local anaesthetic as a day case — you are awake but the eyelids are completely numb, and you go home the same day. That is the £2,500 option. If you would prefer to be asleep, a general anaesthetic can be arranged and starts from £5,000 as it involves a consultant anaesthetist and a longer theatre slot.
What is the recovery like?
Expect bruising and swelling around the eyes for the first one to two weeks, eased with cool compresses and rest. Sutures are either dissolvable or removed at around a week. Most patients are comfortable back at desk-based work within a week and back to exercise at around three weeks.
Will it leave a visible scar?
The incision is placed within the natural crease of the upper lid, so once healed it is hidden when your eyes are open. Scars are pink at first and settle over several months.
How quickly can I be seen?
Consultation appointments are usually available within two to three weeks. Complete the form on this page or call 0161 470 9280 and we will offer you the next available slots.
Where does my procedure take place?
At Deansgate Hospital, a CQC registered independent private hospital in central Manchester, with its own theatres and a consultant-led team.
Is there a cooling-off period?
Yes. You are given a 14-day cooling-off period between your consultation and surgery so you have time to consider everything without pressure.
